CFL football has been a cherished part of our nation’s culture, showcasing incredible athleticism, teamwork, and the passion of fans from coast to coast.&nbsp;In 2024, we were proud to support the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.greycupfestival.ca/">Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver</a>, an event that truly embodied the spirit of Canadian football. From exciting street parties to fan experiences, the Grey Cup Festival brought communities together, creating unforgettable memories for fans of all ages. We loved seeing Canadians gather to create new memories while sharing their love of the game. It was a pleasure to be part of such a spectacular celebration.&nbsp;As the season wrapped up, we congratulated the new Grey Cup champions, the Toronto Argonauts, on their incredible achievement. The hard work, dedication, and perseverance shown by the players and coaching staff inspired us all. Moments like these reminded us why the CFL holds such a special place in the hearts of Canadians.&nbsp;As the 2024 season ended, we already looked forward to seeing fans fill the stadiums again in 2025, cheering on their favorite teams and recreating the electric atmosphere that only Canadian football can offer. June 26, 2024&nbsp;It’s amazing what you can accomplish when a community pulls together.&nbsp;&nbsp;Take the annual pop tab collection in <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.accessstorage.ca/en/self-storage/winnipeg/winnipeg/">Winnipeg</a>. There, the humble soda pop tab is transformed into a precious commodity that can change lives. That’s right, these small, often overlooked items are collected and stored in large, white bags at our sister company Access Storage’s Winnipeg locations. Each white bag collected contains approximately 40 pounds of pop tabs, and these bags collectively generate between $7,000 to $8,000.&nbsp;&nbsp;This impressive sum is used to purchase specialty wheelchairs designed for individuals with severe special needs, offering them the additional adaptations required for their comfort and mobility.&nbsp;We recently celebrated our annual end-of-year collection presentation. This year, we were thrilled to present the 2024 recipient with a specially designed wheelchair, made possible through the dedicated efforts of our partners and the generous contributions of countless individuals.&nbsp;This initiative is a true testament to the power of community effort. We are proud to support these initiatives by providing free storage space, a contribution that has saved our partners more than $12,000 in storage fees since the program's inception. These savings alone have helped fund nearly two wheelchairs, demonstrating the tangible impact of our support.&nbsp;Whether it’s through organizing events, assisting with logistical needs on event days, or providing essential storage solutions, our goal is to showcase the generous spirit of Canadians whenever possible. Là, l'humble languette de boisson gazeuse est transformée en un bien précieux qui peut changer des vies. En effet, ces petits articles, souvent négligés, sont recueillis et entreposés dans de grands sacs blancs dans les établissements de Winnipeg de notre société sœur Access Storage. Chaque sac blanc recueilli contient environ 40 livres de languettes adhésives, et ces sacs génèrent collectivement entre 7 000 et 8 000 $.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cette somme impressionnante est utilisée pour acheter des fauteuils roulants spécialisés conçus pour les personnes ayant des besoins spéciaux importants, leur offrant les adaptations supplémentaires nécessaires à leur confort et à leur mobilité.&nbsp;&nbsp;Nous avons récemment célébré la présentation de notre collecte annuelle de fin d'année. Standing by Team Rubicon Canada and its important work&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;November 11, 2023&nbsp;Each November, we take a moment to remember and pay tribute to those who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces during <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/commemorative-events/veterans-week">Veterans Week</a>. This year, Veterans Week will span from November 5 through to the Remembrance Day ceremonies held at Cenotaphs across the nation.&nbsp;Taking this time each year is important to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made and to show our gratitude to those who are currently serving or have served in the military.&nbsp;At Depotium Mini Entrepôt, we are committed to extending our support and appreciation beyond a single week. This is why we are delighted to announce our partnership with <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://team-rubicon.ca/">Team Rubicon Canada</a>.&nbsp;Many are familiar with Team Rubicon as a humanitarian organization led by veterans, dedicated to assisting global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. For instance, Team Rubicon played a pivotal role in aiding communities in the Atlantic region after the significant damage and disruption caused by the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona in 2022.&nbsp;Yet, there is another equally essential role that Team Rubicon fulfills - supporting former military personnel in their transition from service to civilian life. Team Rubicon provides these individuals with purpose and guidance during what can often be a challenging period.&nbsp;One such individual is Drew Robertson from Toronto. Even after several years in the civilian sector, Drew felt that something was missing in his life until he found Team Rubicon.&nbsp;"When I left the military, the transition was exceptionally tough," Drew stated. "It presented a very, very challenging personal mission that needed to be conquered."&nbsp;Crucially, Team Rubicon offered Drew an opportunity to serve once more. Service was a fundamental aspect of his beliefs. Having an organization that facilitates missions to areas in need allowed Drew to make a significant impact that he wouldn't have been able to achieve on his own.&nbsp;Supporting veterans like Drew is of great importance, as emphasized by Team Rubicon Canada's Brand and Communications Senior Manager, Helen Lialias.&nbsp;"Veterans bring a wealth of skills and knowledge from their prior experiences," Helen noted. "This is incredibly valuable in assisting communities facing crises. Additionally, there is a dual mission component to it. They not only assist but also gain a sense of purpose and identity, alongside like-minded individuals."&nbsp;This dual mission is an integral part of what Team Rubicon does, bridging the gap between the military life veterans knew and the civilian life they are adapting to.&nbsp;Drew attested to the significance of this support, sharing, "When I concluded my civilian career, I still longed for the military. It's incredible to be involved with people who share a similar service experience. Soutien à l'équipe Rubicon Canada et à son travail important11 novembre 2023&nbsp;&nbsp;Chaque année, au mois de novembre, nous prenons le temps de nous souvenir de ceux qui ont servi dans les Forces armées canadiennes et de leur rendre hommage au cours de l<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.veterans.gc.ca/fra/remembrance/commemorative-events/veterans-week">a Semaine des anciens combattants</a>. Cette année, la Semaine des anciens combattants se déroulera du 5 novembre jusqu'aux cérémonies du jour du Souvenir qui se tiendront dans les cénotaphes partout au pays.&nbsp;&nbsp;Il est important de prendre ce temps chaque année pour réfléchir aux sacrifices qui ont été faits et pour montrer notre gratitude à ceux qui servent actuellement ou qui ont servi dans les forces armées.&nbsp;&nbsp;Chez Depotium Mini Entrepôt, nous nous engageons à étendre notre soutien et notre appréciation au-delà d'une seule semaine. The Alouettes took some time to get going in 2023. We are forever grateful to all those who have served in the Armed Forces, and we stand in solidarity with all Canadians in paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.&nbsp;Nevertheless, we firmly believe that a single day of gratitude is insufficient. It is essential to keep our veterans in our thoughts daily and offer support to these men and women in any way possible. One way we accomplish this is by consistently backing the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sunnybrook.ca/content/?page=veterans-centre-community">Sunnybrook Veterans Centre</a> and their Veterans Comfort Fund.&nbsp;Situated in Toronto, this facility stands as Canada's largest Veterans care center, providing a home for nearly 250 veterans from the Second World War, the Korean War, and the Cold War. Recently, 50 residents were inducted into the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sunnybrook.ca/content/?page=veterans-centre-community">100 Club</a>, a new initiative to celebrate centenarians living at Sunnybrook.&nbsp;Depotium Mini Entrepôt has proudly provided support to the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre for the past five years, with the contributions directed towards the Veterans Comfort Fund. They do so to protect us, responding to a deep-seated call to serve the community.This service often exposes them to physical risks. They confront violence and deal with individuals who may react aggressively simply because they are fulfilling their duty.There is also a significant psychological risk. In fact, the emotional toll exacted by this profession is arguably more harmful and perilous than any physical danger they might face in the line of duty. Physical risks are fleeting; they come and go.Emotional burdens, however, linger. Certain images become etched into their minds.Witnessing a recurring victim of domestic abuse return to the same dangerous situation, knowing deep down that they will likely respond to the same call a month later. Delivering the devastating news to a parent that their child has perished in a traffic accident. Investigating the sudden death of an infant. These are all traumatic experiences that a police officer may encounter during their career, often more than once.The impact on their mental well-being is difficult to fathom. There are no visible bruises or scars that one can observe, and, importantly, see heal. Instead, the damage is internalized, and if left unattended, it can lead to devastating consequences.Officers may turn to drugs and alcohol as coping mechanisms, and their relationships with friends, children, and spouses can suffer. Tragically, in far too many instances, they pay the ultimate price: Police officers die by suicide at a higher rate than the general population.Addressing these challenges is the mission of&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.canadabeyondtheblue.com/">Canada Beyond the Blue</a>, an organization dedicated to supporting and recognizing advocates for mental health within police services.
